Mega Millions Rolls Over to $224 Million

Tuesday’s Mega Millions drawing failed to generate any tickets matching all 6 numbers, resulting in a jackpot of $224 Million for the April 30th drawing. Tuesday’s jackpot stood at $191 Million and resulted in 13 tickets that match all but the Mega Ball, each has won, $250,000 cash.

Mega Millions and Powerball Jackpots Blow Past $100,000,000

Sorry to have missed the March newsletter, but travel, family vacations and illness has made it difficult to keep up. I’m back in time to let you know (as if you didn’t already know) that both Mega Millions and Powerball jackpots exceed $100 million. We’ve all observed how quickly these 9-figure jackpots begin to grow between drawings.

Tonight’s Powerball Jackpot is over $150 Million

The Jackpot for the Saturday April 10th (tonight) Powerball drawing is estimated to exceed $150 million, with a cash value of $72.4 million USD. This is not even close to the record Powerball jackpot of $365 million jackpot that was won on February 18, 2006, matched by a single ticket. If there are no matching ticket for tonight’s draw, the jackpot will likely grow to about $190 million, it’s last stop before breaking through the $200,000,000 mark. The drawing takes place at 11pm EST.

No Big Winner in Friday’s Mega Millions Drawing

Last night’s Mega Millions drawing failed to produce a grand prize winner, pushing the jackpot for the Tuesday April 13th draw to $105 Million, with a cash value of $63.5 million. It’s been our observation that since the states started offering both Mega Millions and Powerball, the level of excitement for $100+ million jackpots is a bit lower than when players were only able to play one of the games. I feel that $200 Million is the new threshold needed to build the awareness and influence the buying habits of players across the USA. Even that $200 million Jackpot couldn’t possibly build the same kind excitement and ticket purchase as the $390 Million prize split by two ticket holders following the March 7, 2007 drawing.
