Regular Lottery Player in West Michigan Wins $500,000
$500,000 Lottery Winner Puts It Down to Regular Play
A West Michigan man is reaping the benefits of playing the lottery regularly. Every Friday, the 61-year-old from Ottawa County buys five Cashword instant lottery tickets.
After winning $25 on a recent visit, he used $10 to buy a Cashword ticket and a $500,000 Wild Time instant ticket. It was the second ticket that won him $500,000.
Overwhelmed with excitement
The man, who chose to conceal his identity, told the Michigan Lottery that he was overwhelmed with excitement following his big win. He bought the winning ticket at the Mobil gas station located at 112 Lincoln Avenue in Holland, Michigan.
The winner collected his money this week and has said that he plans to invest it. He is confident that the newfound fortune will ease all of his financial concerns.
Same lottery numbers for 20 years
In Canada, a man’s loyalty to the same lottery numbers has finally paid off. Bon Truong, a resident of Edmonton, won the $60 million Lotto Max jackpot after playing the same lottery numbers for 20 years.
Despite winning in October last year, Truong waited for 10 months to claim the money. He revealed that he could not believe that he was $60 million richer. After seeing the winning numbers, he went to print the ticket at a nearby retailer. He had to recheck the ticket several times to confirm that he was indeed a winner.
Once he was certain that he had won, he started thinking of what he would do with the money. The winner knew that the money would change his life, and he wanted to prepare well before claiming the prize.
The winning combination was 2, 3, 4, 8, 9, 20, and 30. He told the West Canada Lottery Corporation that the numbers are a combination of family birthdays and important dates.
His first thought was that he would pay off all debts. Truong also revealed that he will buy a new home, go for a vacation and save the rest for future use. The $60 million win is a joint record for the biggest Lotto Max win in the province of Alberta. In September 2017, a couple won $60 million.
