Vermont Lottery
The Vermont Lottery is all about multi-state games. While there are a handful of single-state games in the form of Pick 3 and Pick 4, the biggest prizes come from the big multi-state jackpots. This is all because Vermont was one of the founding members of the Tri-State Lottery in 1985.
Tri-State Lottery games on offer in Vermont include Gimmie 5 and Megabucks, both of which compliment the even bigger multi-state games of Mega Millions and Vermont Powerball. Powerball tickets first went on sale in Vermont on July 1, 2003, and Mega Millions only arrived in 2010.
The very first Vermont Lottery tickets went on sale on February 14, 1978, for the Green Mountain Game, a weekly draw. Later the same year, instant tickets dubbed Scratch ‘N Match went on sale, too.
Vermont residents have unfortunately yet to experience a major Mega Millions or Powerball jackpot. However the state has seen a $11,500,000 Megabucks winner. It’s probably just a matter of time before Vermont Powerball and Mega Millions luck hits the state.
